BSG: The last frakkin episode

There is only one word to describe Friday night's final "Battlestar Galactica," perfection.

Fans always hope their favorite shows will end on a high note with everything wrapped up in a nice bow, but it rarely happens.

"Battlestar Galactica" ended its four year run by giving fans everything they wanted and more. There was a frakkin awesome space battle, some really cool old school versus new school centurion fighting and a spectacularly sweet finish for every major character.

In the end they finally found Earth and it turns out the colonial fleet and all its inhabitants are our ancestors from 150,000 years ago. The Earth that they found was untouched and gorgeous and made me sad that we have so thoroughly destroyed it.

With the journey finally over and the fight with the cylons finished, everyone finally had a chance to catch their breath and get the endings they deserved.

An especially sweet and heart wrenching moment came when Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) succumbed to the cancer that has been killing her for three seasons. She died quietly while Adama flew over the spot where their cabin would be. Would someone just give this woman an Emmy already?

My other favorite moment came at the very end when the Six and Baltar "angels" were questioning whether we would make the same mistakes as the colonials and the series concluded with a montage of all the advancements in robotics.

It was just enough morality to make me think, but I wasn't beat over the head with it.

Overall the final episode of "Battlestar Galactica" was pure perfection and made me wonder if Friday nights, or television as a whole, would ever be the same again without it.

So Say We All!
